Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror releasing April 17th

April 14th, 2008

wrhk2.jpg

This week marks the return of content on Sony’s PSN store (new and improved).  You can go there to purchase the latest Warhawk booster pack (or purchase it in game if you like).  Never to be outdone by other shooters that only include maps in their updates, Warhawk has created yet another booster pack.  Previously when Warhawk released a “map” pack or an update, it also included a new vehicle, new map layouts, and/or new weapons.  This booster is no different and puts the DLC count at 3 (the 1 update was even free!).  Now that Warhawk has also gone on sale for $29.99, I’d call purchasing it and its DLC packs a no-brainer.  You can get the core game and all of its updates for less than the cost of any other new PS3 game.

So anyhow the major part of the latest booster pack goes as follows:

Where have we been?

April 10th, 2008

Game Aristocrat is back and in full effect!  Sorry for being away for so long.  I know…  Excuses are like butt-holes (everybody has got one and they all stink), but if you’re interested, below is why we’ve been M.I.A.

Harbro is a family man and has taken on the duties of a little league baseball coach and commisioner.

Tehjubbster is also a family man and on top of that he is a kick-ass drummer for a kick-ass band working to become famous and take over the world.

I do not have a wife nor do I have any children, but instead came down with a sickness for about a week and a half (thanks a lot Tehjubbster!).  However, we are all back and ready to supply you with gaming information generated chubs.

Ok, so enough of the excuses.  Here is what we have on tap for the future:

  1. Time Crisis 4 review
  2. Rocketmen: Axis of evil review
  3. JWat has a beta key for Metal Gear Online (We’ll give our thoughts once we’ve played it).

Open invitations (if you ever see a PS3 id of “harbro” or “J-Wat”, try to join a game with us):

  1. You are invited to join us online for Rockband play (Harbro will melt your face with his guitar or serenade the panties right off your girlfriend with his awesome vocals).  Come and be witness to his pwnmenship!!!
  2. You are invited to join us online for Warhawk (JWat will snipe you from areas of the map you did not even know were reachable).
  3. You are invited to join us online for Call of Duty 4 (If you do not mind Harbro calling a heli every 2 minutes).

Now this is what I call pre-order incentive!

February 29th, 2008

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4 release date (June 12, 2008) announcement created quite a buzz in the video gaming world.  Of course that would include questions.  The guys that run the playstation blog decided to get the answers to those questions.  I personally was most interested in the Metal Gear Online information.  Up until now, I really wasn’t even sure it the online version of the game was going to be a completely different product to be purchased separately.  Continue to read below to see why JWat is excited.

The following Q&A was taken from the playstation blog:

Q: When is the Metal Gear Online multiplayer beta test?
A: The Metal Gear Online multiplayer beta test is scheduled to begin on April 21, 2008.

Q: Is there a time frame for the pre-order to gain access to the beta? When does the pre-order period begin?
A: The pre-order will begin April 2008. Check with your local retailer on availability.

Q: Is there any special process that consumers must go through to verify their participation in the beta?
A: When the pre-order program begins in April 2008, consumers who pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will receive the Metal Gear Saga 2.0 DVD, containing a Prologue that recaps the Metal Gear franchise, a 20th Anniversary retrospective, character bios for Big Boss, Liquid Snake, Solidus Snake, and Solid Snake, plus a collection of international trailers of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This pre-order package also contains an insert with a download code and special instructions for accessing the Metal Gear Online beta test when it goes live in late April.

Q: How many people will be allowed to participate in the Metal Gear Online beta test?
A: The special Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots pre-order package (which includes the insert with the Metal Gear Online download code) will only be available while supplies last.

’til next time, this is JWat saying…

 Can you digg it?!!!
